There Is No Place Like Home; East or West, Home Is Best

Those who spend a long time far from the house know that it is always better at home. I know it because for a long time I lived with my parents in China.

My Daddy, the head of our family, has been sent to China to work. He has the most responsible work. He is an aircraft maintenance engineer. My daddy’s work is very much appreciated because he is serious and responsibly approaches decisions – making. A “healthy” airplane is the safety of flight.

It would be difficult for our family to live there, if not for our mummy. My mummy, the most tender person, gives to my family love, cosiness, and wormth. She is a very beautiful, careful, hardworking, and serious woman. Now she is working as a lawyer. And her work consists in protection of the rights and interests of our citizens.

Thanks to Daddy and Mum, in China I grew up the Chinese kindergarten, learnt the Chinese language, began learning the English language, and have finished the first class of the Russian school. In addition, I have got acquainted with the culture of the Chinese people, have visited with my parents many different museums, parks, the Great Wall, the well-known area of Tian An Men and many other historical and modern places. Our whole family travels everywhere on bicycles, because China is bicycle country.

Our family is amicable, peaceful, intelligent and responsible. We have a lot of friends and we like to spend time cheerfully with our friends. We like to play badminton, roller-skate, skate, ski, sledge, bicycle, and go to the cinema. While my parents work, I go to school. We take our work and study seriously. Only our family unity has helped us to live in a foreign country.

Wherever a person goes he always wants to come back. Not without reason do people say: “there is no place like home; East or West, home is best”. What is the house, you may ask. The house is first of all your family. Life would be difficult if not for families. I am 8 years old and I know that I live in a wonderful country named Russia. I study in the 3rd class and I have the most wonderful family.
