Рита: Да. Погода была чудесной. Говорят, что было даже слишком жарко для конца сентября. Дневная температура была выше +25 и мы с удовольствием плавали в Чёрном море и загорали.
Таня: Не могу поверить. Неужели даже дождя не было?
Рита: Один раз, когда мы были в горах, нас застал сильный дождь. Не скажу, что это было удовольствие. А какой была погода здесь?
Таня: Первая неделя была очень тёплой. Представь себе, погода была также выше +25 днём. Но держалась не долго. Через несколько дней погода поменялась к худшему, начались дожди, температура упала до +5. И этот период плохой погоды продолжается вот уже две недели, как видишь.
Рита: Все знают, что погода в наших краях изменчива. Она может поменяться к лучшему. Иногда мы наслаждаемся очень хорошей и тёплой погодой даже в октябре.
Таня: Ты права. Будем надеяться на лучшее.
Рита: Помнишь, англичане говорят: “Не бывает плохой погоды, бывает плохая одежда”. Ты выглядишь прекрасно в своём жёлтом плаще. Я хочу подарить тебе зонт подходящего цвета. Вот, пожалуйста.
Таня: О, спасибо. Какой прелестный подарок! Это так мило с твоей стороны.

Tanya: Hello, Rita. You look fresh and suntanned. Where have you been?
Rita: I’ve just come back from Sochi.
Tanya: I envy you. You enjoyed the fine weather there, didn’t you?
Rita: Yes, I did. The weather was lovely. They say it was even too hot for the end of September. The day-time temperature was above +25 and we enjoyed swimming in the Black Sea and lying in the sun.
Tanya: I can’t believe it. Didn’t it ever rain?
Rita: Once when we were in the mountains we were caught in a heavy rain. I can’t say that it was very pleasant. What was the weather like here?
Tanya: The first week was very warm. Fancy the temperature was also above +25 in the day time. But it didn’t last long. In a few days the weather turned worse, it started raining, the temperature fell to +5. And this spell of nasty weather has continued already for two weeks, you see.
Rita: Everybody knows the weather in our parts is very changeable. It can still turn to better. Sometimes we enjoy very nice and warm weather in October.
Tanya: Right you are. Let’s hope for the best.
Rita: Do you remember the English say “There is no bad weather, there are only bad clothes.” You look nice in your yellow raincoat. I want to present you with an umbrella to match it. Here you are.
Tanya: Oh, thank you. What a lovely present! How nice of you!
