A Touch of Magic

Pixie Pin-Up

Design a wardrobe for a pixie.

Fantasy Field Day

Make up a sport with rules for a leprechaun, troll, gnome, goblin, giant, sorcerer, elf or any other fairy folk you can think of.

Monster Menu

Plan a special menu for a monster – complete with recipes, of course.

Let Them Live Happily Ever After

Give the characters a break. Choose a fairy tale with an unhappy ending and change the story around so that “they all lived happily ever after.”

Harry Who?

Magicians come and go, but Harry Houdini was the most famous of them all. Learn all you can about this man’s magic style. Look up his biography in a reference book and try to figure out how and why he became a legend in his own time.

Magic-in-a-Box

Pack a bunch of tricks in a box so you are ready to perform at a moment’s notice. Start with playing cards, a scarf or two, mirrors, plastic cups, funnels, bottles, gloves, pencils, paper, rubber bands, balloons, matchboxes or coins. Add whatever you need for your own special tricks.

Two Can Play

Make up a trivia game using only magic and make-believe questions and answers. Or, try a board game with a magic theme.

Message Magic

Years ago, when Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone and Guglielmo Marconi invented the telegraph, people must have thought that this surely was a bit of real-life magic. Impress the people you know by thinking up and using your own magic method of sending messages.

Nouns for Gnomes

Make a list of as many nouns as you can that could be used to name a person, place or thing for a gnome. (Examples – gnome cone, gnome coat, mother gnome, gnome dome, etc.)

Witch’s Brew

Start with hot chocolate or apple cider, add your own secret ingredients and brew up a drink fit for a witch or two and you! (Never, ever tell anybody what you added so that, just like the witches, your secret will be all your own.)

Down the Rabbit Hole

Pretend that you slip into a rabbit’s hole just like Alice did. Write down what will happen when you reach the bottom.
