Теория и практика The Present Continuous Tense для 3-го класса

I. Настоящее продолженное время образуется с помощью вспомогательного глагола to be в нужной форме AM/IS/ARE и смыслового глагола с суффиксом V + ing.
Необходимо сделать два преобразования:
1. Поставить вспомогательный глагол в нужную форму.
2. Найти смысловой глагол и приписать к нему суффикс -ing.

II. Подобного времени в русском языке нет. Оно показывает, что действие длится, то есть происходит в определенный момент, часто в момент речи. Этот момент может быть выражен следующими словами-сигналами:

Now
At the moment
At present
Look!
Listen!

Утвердительная +

Вопросительная ?

III. They are skiing

I am reading now. (Я сейчас читаю.)
You are writing a letter at the moment. (Ты в данный момент пишешь письмо.)
My granny (she) is sleeping at present. (Моя бабушка теперь спит.)
Look! The puppy (it) is playing with a bone. (Посмотри, щенок играет с косточкой.)
We are running now. (Мы сейчас бегаем.)
Listen! They are singing. (Послушай, они поют.)
They are not running, they are playing football at the moment. (В данный момент они не бегают, я играют в футбол.)

III. Точнее всего суть этого времени передает вопрос – Что есть человек (или кто-то другой) делающий в данный момент?

Например:

I am reading now (Что я сейчас делающая? Я сейчас читающая) А по-русски мы скажем – Я сейчас читаю (что делаю?)

IV. Правописание:

1. Конечная согласная, стоящая перед гласной (часто в односложных глаголах) – удваивается перед суффиксом -ing:

run – runn+ing = running;
swim – swimm+ing = swimmimg;
begin – beginn+ing = beginning.

2. Немое -e перед суффиксом -ing не пишется:

dance – dancing;
take – taking.

3. Две конечные гласные -ie в глаголах типа to lie – лежать заменяются одной гласной -y, после которой пишется суффикс –ing:

lie – ly+ing = lying.

V. Нужно запомнить, что к предложению в Present Continuous не задается вопрос When? (когда?), так как само это время, своей структурой говорит, что действие происходит сейчас, в данный момент. Все остальные вопросы задаются по известной нам схеме.

I. Вопросительное слово: Where, Why, What, Who, How, Who with, Whose
II. Вспомогательный глагол Be – в нужной форме (am, is, are)
III. Подлежащее
IV. Сказуемое
(с суффиксом -ing)
V. Оставшиеся члены предложения

Например:

His friends are watching TV at the moment. (В данный момент его друзья смотрят телевизор.)

Общий вопрос: Are his friends watching TV at the moment?
Альтернативный вопрос: Are his friends watching TV or reading a book at the moment?
Специальные вопросы:

What are his friends doing at the moment?
Whose friends are watching TV at the moment?
Why are his friends watching TV at the moment?

Вопрос к подлежащему!!! Who is watching TV at the moment? (Кто смотрит телевизор в данный момент?)

Обратите внимание на вопрос к подлежащему. Местоимение Who стоит в единственном числе, в 3-м лице и требует поставить вспомогательный глагол также в 3-е лицо – IS.

VI. Важно понять разницу между временами Present Simple (Indefinite) и Present Continuous.

I do my lessons every day.

Они обычно завтракают в 9 часов.

They usually have breakfast at 9 o’clock.

Она редко поет.

She sings very seldom.

Моя мама часто пишет письма своей сестре.

My mother often writes letters to her sister.

Сейчас я делаю уроки.

I am doing my lessons now.

В данный момент они завтракают.

They are having breakfast at the moment.

Послушай! Она поет.

Listen! She is singing.

Посмотри, мама пишет письмо сестре.

Look! Mother is writing a letter to her sister.

Present Simple or Present Continuous

– Hello Boris! What you (to do) now?
– I (to go) to the sport club.
– You often (to go) to the sport club?
– No, I… I usually (to go) there when I (to have) time.
– Who you usually (to go) to the club with?
– I always (to go) there with my friend.

– He (to play) chess with his elder (старший) brother.

Card 2

Jill usually (to drink) milk in the morning.
She (to like) milk.
Her little sister Nora (not to like) milk.
She (to like) Coke.
At the moment Jill (not to drink) milk, she (to drink) Juice.
Nora (to drink) juice too.

Jack often (to have) tea at five o’clock.
Now it (to be) 5 o’clock, and Jack (to have) tea.

Card 3

Paul (to get) up at 7 o’clock every day.
Then he (to do) his morning exercises.
After that he (to wash) his face and hands.
At 8 o’clock Paul (to have) breakfast.
It (to be) 8 o’clock now and Paul (to have) breakfast.

Bill (to have) got a kitten.
Its name (to be) Snow.
Bill (to like) his pet.
He often (to play) and (to feed) his kitten.
But today Bill (not to play) with Snow.
Bill (to be) busy.
Now he (to do) his homework.
He (to want) to write his dictation well.

Card 9

Every day Kate (to come) home from school at 2 o’clock, then she (to have) dinner, (to help) mother about the house and (to go) for a walk.

It (to be) o’clock. Kate (to be) at home. She (to have) dinner. Mother (to have) dinner with her. Pam the kitten (to have) its dinner too.

Card 10

1. I (not to drink) tea now. I (to write) an English exercise.
2. I (not to drink) tea in the morning. I usually (to drink) coffee.
3. Your friend (to do) his homework now? Yes, he… He (to learn) the dialogue.
4. Your friend (to go) to school in the morning? Of course, he… He (to go) to school at 8 o’clock.
5. Look, the child (to sleep). Yes, he always (to sleep) after dinner.
6. My grandfather (not to work). He (to be) on pension.
7. What your sister (to do) now. I want to talk to (поговорить с) her. I think my sister (to play) the piano.
