“МАУГЛИ”. Театрализованное представление

THE JUNGLE SCHOOL

Baloo: Dear cubs! We are going to begin our jungle school lessons. The rainy season has begun and it’s time to open our school. Hello!

The song “Hello”
Baloo: Say hello.
Cubs: Hello.
Baloo: Say hello.
Cubs: Hello.
Baloo: Say hello.
Cubs: Hello.
Baloo: Say hello.
Cubs: Hello.
Baloo: Part your knees,
Clap your hands,
Stamp your feet.
We’ll have 3 lessons today: Poetry, Jungle history and Maths. Let’s begin with Poetry.

A song “Sound Song”
Sounds we hear:
Through the window,
Far and near,
Soft and still,
High and low,
Loud and clear.
Listen! (4 times)

Baloo: I’ll show you a card with a word. Your task is to make a poem.
The word for the fox-cub is WIND.
Fox: 1. Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you.
But when the leaves hang trembling
The wind is passing through.
Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I.
But when the trees bow down their heads
The wind is passing by.
Baloo: The word for the snake-cub is CLOUDS.
Snake: 2. White sheep, white sheep
On a blue hill,
When the wind stops
You all stand still.
You walk far away,
When the wind blows.
White sheep, white sheep,
Where are you going?
Baloo: The word for the wolf-cub is SKY.
Wolf: 3. I always see stars in the sky.
So near to me and yet so high.
Baloo: The word for the monkey-cub is STARS.
Monkey: 4. In the day far away
Hide the stars: they never stay.
Never show where they go;
Can you tell me, do you know?
In the dark you may mark
Hundreds over trees.
They spark.
Frog: Sorry, I’m late
I’m a lively frog.
Jump! Jump! Jump!
Off I go with a hump!
My great eyes are full of surprise.
Hop! Hop! Hop!
Won’t I ever stop?

I shoot out my tongue and eat a poor fly.
I think it’s as good as an apple-pie.
Jump! Jump! Jump!
Off I go with a bump!
It’s beginning to rain, so I’m off again
Hop! Hop! Hop!
Won’t I ever stop?
Baloo: What! You are always late! Where’s Mowgli? You are always walking with him!
Frog: He has gone to Bagheera.
Baloo: I’m tired of him. He’s so lazy. Cubs, have a break. Sing a song for old Baloo, please.

A song “Wimoweh”

In the Jungle

Mowgli: Bagheera, it’s impossible. I can’t go to the Jungle history lessons. These lessons are about me.
Bagheera: I understand. It was many years ago when I, Bagheera, the panther, found a little lost man-cub. He was alone and unprotected in the jungles of India. So I took the small boy to the nearby family of wolves I knew. That’s how little Mowgli, the Man-cub, came to be brought up by jungle animals. They treated him just like a brother wolf.
Mowgli: Bagheera, stop it. Let’s sing our favourite song.

A song “Walking Through the Jungle”
Walking through the jungle,
Walking through the jungle,
What do you see,
What do you see?
If you hear a noise – sh-sh-sh.
What could it be? What could it be?
Oh well I think it was a snake – hiss.
I think it was a snake – hiss.
I think it was a snake – hiss.
Looking for his tea, Looking for his tea.

Kaa: Hsh-sh. Hello! How are you, my small brother wolf?
Mowgli: Where are you from?
Kaa: Although you don’t know it, I often watch you from a distance to make sure that you are safe. You see the jungle also holds many dangers. Do you remember when I saw you for the fist time, I, the crafty Kaa, smacked my forked tongue at the sight of a “delicious” Man-cub. I, the tricky snake, almost hypnotized you right in to my greedy coils. Luckily, you called for help and Bagheera with Baloo arrived in time to save you.
Mowgli: My life is so boring. Where’s my real enemy, the fierce tiger, Shere Khan?
1st monkey: I remember, I remember, Shere Khan hated all men and had sworn to kill the Man-cub. The tiger didn’t want to take a chance that the boy would grow and become another hunter with a gun.
Now he’s angry, ill and alone. He spoke with our Queen Louise.
Mowgli: I can’t live in this way. Where are my adventures? Where are my enemies?
Bagheera: Mowgli, let’s dream. A short dream. A nice dream.

A song “Mother Forest”

Part 1
Mowgli:
It’ terrible, it’s terrible, it’s impossible to live here.
1st monkey: Mowgli, are you crying?
Mowgli, why are you crying?
Crying won’t help you.
If you stop your crying
You will find what you can do.
The things you want to do.
Please come with us! Our monkey life is wonderful. You are always welcome at our place!
2nd monkey: We are living in the ancient temple, there are a lot of tasty fruits around: oran-ges, bananas, plums, pineapples. We’re eating, playing, and laughing all day. We don’t go to school. Nobody teaches us. We can do anything we want. We even composed the song about this.

A song “We Can Do Anything”
We can do anything
We can do anything
We can do anything
We want to.
We can sing this song
La lala lala.
sing this song
La lala lala.
sing this song
La lala lala.
We can do anything.
We can clap our hands
Clap clap-clap clap-clap
clap our hands
Clap clap-clap clap-clap
clap our hands
Clap clap-clap clap-clap
We can do anything.

3rd monkey: Our Queen Louise is fantastic and charming. She is inviting you to visit our great monkey tribe. You won’t be sorry! Let’s go. Hurry up! Time is money.

Monkey Tribe

Monkey Queen: Now I’m the queen of swingers, the Jungle V.I.P.
I’ve reached the top and had to stop
And that’s what’s botherin’ me.
I wan’na be a girl, a man-cub,
And stroll right in the town.
And just like the other men,
I’m tired of monkeyin’ ‘round! Oh!
I‘ve sold all jungles around. For 1 million dollars. I’m rich as Rockefeller! I’ve sold everything around. But I can’t go to Hollywood just now. I don’t know human’s etiquette. Mowgli will help me. He’s a man-cub.
3rd monkey: And he’s here, your Majesty.
Monkey Queen: Nice work. Girls.
2nd monkey: We grabbed him. We grabbed him at the last moment. Kaa was a few inches away from the boy. We managed to do this.
Monkey Queen: My dear boy! I like you so much! I want to get a closer look. You are welcome in our progressive monkey tribe. Look, we’re drawing a picture. The rainbow.
1st monkey: Boats sail on the river,
And ships sail on the seas.
But clouds that sail across the sky
Are far prettier than these.
There are bridges on the rivers.
As pretty as you please;
But the bow that bridges heaven,
And overtops the trees,
And builds the road from earth to sky,
Is far prettier than these.
Monkey Queen: 1, 2, 3,
Open your eyes and see
Sing it high and sing it low
For everyone and me.

A song “Colour Song”
Take a little bit of yellow
And a little bit of blue,
Put it in a bowl and mix it up – do,
I’ve got a colour we’ve never had before,
What have we got? We’ve got green.
We can mix lots of colours
All the colours you’ve ever seen,
We can mix lots of colours
Yellow and blue make green.

Take a little bit of yellow
And a little bit of red,
Put it in a bowl and what have we got instead?
I’ve got a colour we’ve never had before,
What have we got? We’ve got orange.
We can mix lots of colours
All the colours you’ve ever seen,
We can mix lots of colours
Yellow and red make orange.
Yellow and blue make green.

Take a little bit of red
And a little bit of blue,
Put it in a bowl and mix it up – do,
I’ve got a colour we’ve never had before,
What have we got? We’ve got purple.
We can mix lots of colours
All the colours you’ve ever seen,
We can mix lots of colours
Red and blue make purple.
Yellow and red make orange.
Yellow and blue make green.

Monkey Queen: My dear Mowgli! I wan’na be like you, ooh, ooh, I wan’na walk like you, talk like you, too.
Will you teach me some etiquette? I’d like to be a soap-opera star. Will you help me?
Mowgli: Your monkey life is so amazing, wonderful, exciting. Why do you want to live with people? I lived in the people village last year. It’s terrible, it’s really terrible. Besides, they are cutting down trees. They are destroying the jungle, our home. How can you live with them?
Monkey Queen: You silly boy, in a year there won’t be any jungles here. The man with machines will come and chop down all the trees. These silly monkeys, all jungle inhabitants will disappear forever. I’ve sold all these trees for a million dollars.
Mowgli: What! How could you do this! It’s a crime!
Monkey Queen: My dear boy! Come with me and we’ll live happily and be world famous.
3rd monkey: Our majesty! Some men with machines have come to the temple. They say we have to go away. They say you’ve sold all the trees in our jungle for a million dollars. Is it true?
Monkey Queen: I guess, you are right. Go away or you’ll be killed.
1st woodcutter: We are in a hurry. We need to chop down millions of trees. The wood will be sent to the US and we’ll grow rice here. My family won’t be hungry anymore.
2nd woodcutter: Don’t spend your time just looking around.
For something you want that can’t be found.
When you find out you can live without it
And go along not thinking about it.
I’ll tell you something true.
Woodcutter’s wife: We’ll build a nice house here. There’s a lot of wood. It’ll be a 3 storied house with a balcony. Every morning I’ll stand on this balcony and see my rice fields. We’ll be rich. Our children will go to school.
Kaa: Sh Sh. You can’t stand on the balcony. I’ll kill you, you, silly chatty woman. Look at me.
Bagheera: Stop, Kaa, please. She’s not guilty. I know her. She lives in the Indian village near here. She’s got 2 children.
Woodcutter’s wife: Our life is so difficult. We are always hungry. We are always thirsty. We should chop down these trees to have our own house and fields. Poor animals, you’ll have nowhere to live.
Run away, find shelter, find new homes to live in. You don’t have much time. We’ll begin chopping the trees in a minute.
Mowgli: Help! My friends, help! It’s a tragedy! They want to chop down the trees! We must stop them.

A song “Mother Forest”

Part 2
Mowgli:
We have won. Nobody can cut down our favorite forest.
Bagheera: Nobody can kill millions of animals in the rainforest.
Baloo: Save our planet, Earth. Keep it clean and fine.

A song “Don’t Kill the Earth” (Boney M)
