Bunny and Red Bird
The sun was up.
And Bunny went down the road.
He came to Red Bird.
Red Bird looked at Bunny.
Then he came down the tree.
“Hi, Red Bird!” said Bunny.
“I want to run.
Will you run with me?”
“No,” said Red Bird.
“I can’t run.”
Bunny went on down the road.
He came to Sunny.
“Hi, Sunny!” said Bunny.
“I want to run.
Red Bird will not run with me.
Will you run with me?”
“No,” said Sunny.
“I can’t run.”

Why can’t Sunny run with Bunny?
Big S
Bunny went on down the road.
He came to Big S.
“Hi, Big S!” said Bunny.
“I want to run.
Red Bird will not run with me.
And Sunny will not run.
Sunny and Red Bird can’t run.
Will you run with me?”
“No,” said Big S.
“I can’t run.”
Bunny went on down the road.
He came to Turtle.
“Hi, Turtle!” said Bunny.
“I want to run.
Red Bird will not run with me.
And Sunny will not run with me.
And Big S will not run with me.
Red Bird and Sunny and Big S can’t run.
Will you run with me?”
“Yes,” said Turtle.
“I can run.”

Red Bird looked down at Turtle.
“You can run?” he said.
Sunny looked at Turtle.
“You can run?” he said.
Big S looked up at Turtle.
“You can run?” he said.
“Yes,” said Turtle.

The Bunny and Turtle went to a tree.
“OK,” said Turtle.
“I will run with Bunny.
You will see.
Bunny and I will run to the red rock.”
“No,” said Bunny.
“To the little red bush.”
Red Bird said,
“Run!
Run to get a ribbon.
1, 2, 3, Go!”
“Run, Bunny!” said Sunny.
And Bunny ran!
“Go on, Turtle, said Big S.
“Run!”
And Turtle ran!
Who do you want to get the ribbon?
Why?
Run, Turtle!
“Hey,” said Big S.
“See where Bunny is.
He will not get to the red rock.”
Red Bird looked and Sunny looked.
Then Red Bird said, “Run, Turtle!
He will get to the red rock.
But Bunny will not.
You will get the ribbon.”
Sunny went up to Bunny.
“Get up, Bunny,” he said.
“Get up! Go!
Look where Turtle is.”
But Bunny did not get up.
Turtle ran on and on.
“Here I am!” said Turtle.
“At the red rock.
See!
I get the ribbon.”
“No, you don’t,” said Bunny.
“I said, Run to the red bush.
And here I am!
I get the ribbon.”
Who gets the ribbon?
