Ход вечера

Teacher: Our meeting today is devoted to The Beatles. We are going to speak about the history and the creation of this group. Look at the poster. Do you know this group? What are their names? Name them.
(Из класса называют имена, а учитель подписывает вокруг плаката.) John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrisson, Ringo Star.
They four are The Beatles. It’s the greatest group in the history of pop-music.
But you will not only listen. To each of you, I’ll give a card. Your task is to choose the correct answer from the history of The Beatles.
We shall hear about their lifes, their songs, and watch fragments from their films. But don’t forget about your task. At the end of our party we’ll see what you know about The Beatles. Look through your cards.
It’s widely known that the name of the group The Beatles is a combination of two words – “beat” that means удар, аккорд (слова на доске), and “beetles” mean жуки.
John Lennon formed this group and he was the leader of The Beatles. He created the name for the Beatles.
Ведущий 1: The group he formed changed pop-music forever. From their first single “Love Me Do” in 1962, people recognized something different in their music than the usual pop-songs at the time. (Звучитпесня “Love Me Do”, 2 куплета.) Their songs seemed more tuneful and more exciting. They were also more attractive than many other performers. Soon, the group’s following was like nothing anyone had ever seen: a hysteria that the newspapers called “Beatlemania” swept Britain and soon, America.

Teacher: This is a fragment from The Beatles film “Hard Day’s Night”.
John Lennon was born in Liverpool in October 1940, and formed his first group when he was still at school. It was called the Quarrymen. This year he was introduced to James Paul McCartney. A year younger than John, Paul was a better guitarist and earned himself a place in the band. Paul watned his friend, George Harrison to join, but he was only 14 and John would not let him join for a year.
In January 1963 Ringo Star joined the group.
The road to success was not always easy. John and Paul spent many afternoons listening to American stars like Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley, before they were able to write their famous song.
Ведущий 2: Their next single “Please, Please Me” reached number one in March 1963. (Звучитпесня “Please, Please Me”, 2 куплета.) When the media focused on the new group it soon became obvious that Lennon was not like other pop-stars. His answer to reporters’ questions showed an unusual intelligence and wit. His character soon shone. He always kept his rebellious streak, and hated pretension. He was never quite comfortable with the Beatles “nice” image.
In fact, it was Lennon who began to break away from this image and change the public image of the Beatles. His and McCartney’s music changed and became more “psychedelic”. The Beatles grew beards and long hair. They were no longer those four clean-cut young men that even parents liked.
Teacher: During the 1960s, the Beatles were always in the news headlines: film, world tours and sometimes scandals. John once suggested that the Beatles were better known than Jesus Christ. Many more people began to listen to pop-music than before. People sang their songs. (Звучит “Girl” нарусском.) Beatles’ songs are not only in English. Do you know this song? What is it called? Please listen to it in the original. It’s great. (Звучит “Girl” наанглийском.)
Love is the main theme in Beatles’ songs and this melody is known by practically everybody. (Звучит “Michelle” натрубе.) It’s “Michelle” – one of the famous Beatles’ songs. Do you like it? (Звучит “Michelle” воригинале.)
Ведущий 3: All four Beatles were born during the 1940s and grew up in the seaport of Liverpool, the city on the banks of the River Mersey. John, Paul, George and Ringo became more than just pop-stars, they became the voice of a new generation.
But in 1966, Lennon met Japanese artist Yoko Ono. She brought something new to his life, and soon he found there was more he wanted to do on his own, or with Yoko Ono, than he wanted to do with The Beatles. In 1968 he told the other Beatles of his decision to leave.
This year Beatles formed The Apple Corporation, their own business. They made interesting and original films, too – for example “Help” and “A Hard Day’s Night”. This is a fragment from their film “Help”.

Teacher: The real split came in 1971 when Paul McCartney also decided their partnership should end.
The Beatles became nationally famous in England. One of their songs from the film “Help” became classic not only in the pop-music world but in the history of music. Nowadays more than two thousand variants of this song are performed.
Listen to one of these variants. (Девочки на гитарах играют “Yesterday.) This is the famous “Yesterday”. For the first time Paul McCartney, the writer of this song, called it “Scrambled Egg”. Because it was easy to sing “Scrambled Egg, How I Love A Scrambled Egg”.
Ведущий 4: John Lennon was killed in 1980. George Harrisson died only last year. The Beatles became the most successful pop-group the world has ever known.
In 1962 The Beatles created a new kind of music, they created rock-n-roll. The world liked it and danced rock-n-roll to the Beatles’ songs. (Паратанцует rock-n-roll.)
Teacher: That is all. Our party is coming to an end. Do you like it? Do you like The Beatles’ songs? Do you know something more about them? Thanks to all the pupils who took part in our party. Now, look through your cards and tell me what you know about The Beatles.

(Учитель проверяет фронтально по карточкам, что дети узнали из прослушанного материала.)
