Dear Readers!
We are happy to announce the best authors of English for 2007. We do hope this is a pleasant surprise for you, the readers, as well as for the authors themselves, as we never announced the contest for this year. The idea occurred to us as we decided to give an incentive to our most active, fruitful and devoted contributors who have been writing for the newspaper during this year. So, this time the decision was made by the editorial board of English.

Here are the winners:
First Prize (5, 000 roubles) – Elena Pavlova, Nizhnevartovsk
Second Prize (3, 000 roubles) – Irina Ishkhnely, Moscow
Third Prize (2, 000 roubles) – Youdif Boyarskaya, Moscow

The editorial board of YES pages have selected three best pieces published on the student’s pages. They are:
“It Can Be Easily Changed” by Lyubov Gribanova, Moscow (English, No. 8)
“Are Women Stronger Than Men?” by Tatyana Olkhovaya, Moscow (English, No. 11)
“Teen Magazines: Pros and Cons” by Evgenia Koptyug, Novosibirsk (English, No. 24)
The authors will be awarded with prizes (surprises) from the YES Club.

Also we would like to send our congratulations (along with a prize) to Lyudmila Lyadova who responding to our Readers’ Contest (see English, No. 12, 2007) for the 100th way to say “very good”, added these expressions:
Splendid!
That's HOT!
COOL!!!
AWSOME!

Now, in the upcoming year we want you, our readers, to be the judges who will make the decision.
In English No.1, 2008 we are going to announce two contests (both for teachers and students).
