Роль музыки и песен в изучении английского языка

Проблема повышения мотивации обучения требует от учителя нового подхода к её решению, в частности, разработки более совершенных организационных форм и методических приёмов обучения. Надо помнить, что в процессе обучения важны не только знания, но и впечатления, с которыми ребёнок уходит с урока.

Любой урок состоит из определённых этапов и частей. Это можно представить в виде следующей схемы:

Вот об этой “изюминке” и хотелось бы рассказать. Урок должен нести не только определённые знания, но и радость каждому ученику. “Изюминка” позволяет разнообразить урок, сделать его интересным, живым, весёлым. Это может быть шутка, анекдот, короткий рассказ, песня, игра, ситуация. Об использовании песен и коротких рассказов на уроках английского языка и пойдёт речь далее.

Комплексное решение практических, образовательных, воспитательных и развивающих задач обучения возможно лишь при условии воздействия не только на сознание учащихся, но и проникновения в их эмоциональную сферу.

Одним из наиболее эффективных способов воздействия на чувства и эмоции учащихся является музыка. Музыка и песня могут оказать неоценимую помощь в изучении английского языка.

Каковы же методические преимущества песен в обучении английскому языку?

• песни являются средством более прочного усвоения и расширения лексического запаса, т.к. включают новые слова и выражения;

• в песнях уже знакомая лексика встречается в новом контекстуальном окружении, что помогает её активизации. В песнях часто встречаются имена собственные, географические названия, реалии страны изучаемого языка, поэтические слова. Это способствует развитию у школьников чувства языка, знания его стилистических особенностей;

• в песнях лучше усваиваются и активизируются грамматические конструкции;

• песни способствуют совершенствованию навыков произношения;

• песни содействуют эстетическому воспитанию учащихся, сплочению коллектива. Благодаря музыке на уроке создаётся благоприятный психологический климат, снижается психологическая нагрузка, активизируется языковая деятельность, повышается эмоциональный тонус, поддерживается интерес к изучению иностранного языка;

• песни и другие музыкальные произведения стимулируют монологические и диалогические высказывания, служат основой развития речемыслительной деятельности школьников.

Песни подбирались такие, чтобы были современны, их можно было петь хором, легко уловить мелодию, слова.

Песни дают возможность расслабиться, сделать небольшой перерыв в рутинной учебной деятельности на уроке. Это своего рода релаксация в середине или конце урока, когда нужна разгрузка, снимающая напряжение и восстанавливающая работоспособность.

Почему надо использовать песни на уроках?

Мотивация учащихся и их интерес являются основным фактором в изучении иностранного языка. Существует несколько способов улучшения эффективности преподавания: отрывки из фильмов, песни, комиксы, газеты, журналы, аудиопособия – тем самым повышается мотивация учащихся.

Среди всех этих средств популярные и народные песни, в большинстве случаев лучше всего отражают заинтересованность современной молодёжи.

Вот поэтому, песни, которые были сочинены специально для изучения каких- либо грамматических структур, не прижились и не повысили интерес учащихся, т.к. они чаще всего были скучны и искусственны. Молодёжи нравятся современные популярные и народные песни, благодаря их аутентичному культуроведческому содержанию. Конечно, нельзя сказать, что все проблемы, касающиеся мотивации в изучении иностранных языков, могут быть решены с помощью песен, но песня вызывает большой прилив энтузиазма и представляет собой приятный и, в то же время, стимулирующий подход в изучении культуры иноязычных стран.

Особое внимание следует уделять отбору песен. Мелодии должны нравиться учащимся, музыкальное сопровождение должно быть современным и живым. И ещё не надо забывать об одной особенности песни: учащиеся будут петь песни не только в классе, но и тогда, когда урок уже будет далеко позади, а они будут их петь для своего удовольствия. Песни не забываются, в отличие от грамматических структур, которые улетучиваются из головы по окончании урока, песни могут жить долго и стать частью чьей-либо культуры.

Песни можно использовать для различных целей:

1. Некоторые песни можно использовать, чтобы практиковать грамматические структуры. В песнях можно встретить все грамматические явления английского языка: множественное число существительных, числительные, предлоги, наречия, модальные глаголы, степени сравнения, притяжательный падеж, виды времён и пр.

2. Можно провести драматизацию песни.

3. Передать содержание песни своими словами.

4. Изменить прямую речь на косвенную.

5. Написать пьесу, на основе её создать диалоги, представить, что герои говорят друг другу согласно песне.

6. “Смешные строчки”. Это упражнение возможно уже на элементарном уровне. После того, как учащиеся разучат песню, написать строчки из песни в другом порядке.

7. Восстановление песни:

а) записать песню с пропущенными словами;
б) записать песню строчку за строчкой, прослушивая на магнитофоне, делая необходимые паузы, чтобы у учащихся было время для записи.

8. Проект.

Основываясь на песне, можно начать какую-либо исследовательскую работу, написание проекта.

Работа над песней, несомненно, обогатит учащихся сведениями страноведческого характера, поможет приобщить их к культуре страны изучаемого языка.
